[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Important: What are the different components of the programme?” open=”true” el_id=”1464984612742-e6ec0eb7-543a”]This relates to either one of three business models we follow. The short answer is that there are two components to the programme (research and professional) and three potential scenarios – or ways of structuring participation and agreements.

There is research component which has everything to do with you being formally enrolled at a university. Then there is a high level professional development component and this is where we fit in.

The three choices are:

1. We have an existing formal arrangement with the university or faculty (you pay the university whatever you should and our separate professional development programme is absolutely free. Some aspects might incur a small voluntary fee on an ad hoc basis. It depends on the great things we decide to do as a postgraduate group from time to time)
2. While enrolled at your institution, you may contract separately with us for research mentorship and auxiliary academic supervision (which reduces the costs considerably for the professional development aspect).
3. You are not interested in postgraduate studies or we have no stake in your research. In this case the professional development programme is available to you at market rates but you have to fill out an application and certain terms and conditions apply.

Depending on what is applicable we meet in Pretoria, South Africa. The actual venue will be communicated in advance.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Contact frequency” el_id=”1464984034994-2d3dbf0d-9277″]We normally get together four times per year. Apart from your research (if applicable), particularly if you want to register as a coach or other skilled helper these meetings are quite important as they add up to a portfolio of learning.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How long do postgraduate studies take?” el_id=”1464984035166-c383465b-f7bd”]A masters degree: 2 years (minimum 1)

A PhD or related degree: 3 years (minimum 2)

We assist you to finalise your formal institutional proposal during the first six months of being registered at your institution.

However, please also consult with your institution in this regard.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”When and how can I enroll?” el_id=”1464984035341-74c72e9a-0ceb”]At this stage we do not concern ourselves with the institution/university you wish to enroll, unless. With the mediated option we try to make an arrangement with the university so as to potentially offer you the professional development programme for free (as long as the arrangement with the university is in place).

From our side, what we can say is that many universities have a semi open enrollement agreement. It means that for the most part of the year they would accept applications on postgraduate level for masters and doctorate students. Our professional development programme is open to start at any of the four contact modules.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Who can enroll?” el_id=”1464985988886-9feb3753-4602″]

Our programme is open only for students who start out at either Honours, Masters or Doctorate degrees. So if you qualify with the university of your choice you would be accepted into our programme. If you do our professional development programme separately, that is another matter and we reserve the right to screen applications.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Is dual supervision not confusing?” el_id=”1464984035548-59269fe0-4d05″]Sometimes academic supervisors know little of the practice component and there is scope and justification for the involvement of a field supervisor. What’s more is that because the study is interdisciplinary the chances are not great that your academic supervisor is familiar with the organisational context. We see to it that justice is done to the interdisciplinary nature of your study.

The nature of the relationship also depends on the academic institution. If the university appoints us as your hands-on supervisor it means that they will basically do a second reading and ensure that everything goes according to plan (as governed by their internal policies, processes, and methodologies). If we do the hands-on supervision then we do not care whether they have us as primary or co-supervisors. It’s irrelevant as we are actually doing the supervision as we have in the past with some institutions.

For ease of mind, we will talk the relationship through at the outset and sign a memorandum of understanding for the sake of clarity.[/vc_toggle][/vc_column][/vc_row]
